Hello there! I’m Dio Ostuni, a Brazilian artist who uses my passion for art as the driving force of my life. When I was a kid I spent countless hours drawing superheroes and cartoon characters that I was watching on TV and from a young age I knew that I wanted to make it my career.
My first job was creating short animations in Adobe Flash (Animate) for a marketing agency when I was only 15 years old. That ignited me to start my professional journey as an artist, so I went to college to study Web Design, then I finished my Masters in Art and Strategic Design. During this time, I could explore different skills, working as an Illustrator, Game Artist, and Visual Designer until I got the honour of sharing my knowledge and love for art as a Professor of Animation, Illustration and Multimedia Design.
In 2015, my life changed completely when I moved to Canada because I got a scholarship to join the first class of Animation and Concept Art at the Vancouver Film School. After a lot of sleepless nights and hard work, I got my diploma and one week later I stepped into the Canadian Animation Industry with my first job as a Character Cleanup at WildBrain. This was the sparkle that I needed to kickstart my career again, and throughout all these years, I'm grateful for the opportunities to work with amazing people on great projects like The Snoopy Show, Lego Friends, Bird Girl, Spark Animation and FX Festivals, among many others.
Now I'm excited to start a side business so I can keep improving my skillset and use my art to share with everybody, all the beautiful places I have the chance to visit, by drawing, painting and transforming my experiences into prints so people can take with them a little piece of this wonderful land we call home.
